The COLOR XAPHOON, or Color Pocket Sax, made from ruby-colored plastic, is a special edition of the classic STANDARD XAPHOON.
Our colleague Dean Leoni from Japan gave us, and all those who love color, the inspiration for this Xaphoon. It is standardized and distinguished by its precision. It is manufactured in Indiana / USA.
Unlike the instruments made from renewable materials such as bamboo or olive wood, this Xaphoon is made from ABS plastic in a high-precision procedure. It’s the material that clarinet and saxophone mouthpieces have been made out of for many years.
The tone is somewhat straighter and more direct than that of the Maui Xaphoon. The way the instrument speaks and its playability are similar to the other Xaphoons.
